My scanner is evil!!!!!!!!! I need advice....TT^TT

Ok, so when I first got my scanner, it would scan work done in pencil just fine, but now when I scan a picture in pencil, it won't show up at all unless I press down on the pencil REALLY REALLY HARD when I draw. >.<

What should I do? I'm so tired of ruining drawing after drawing because I have to ink every drawing I want to put up here.

My dad told me to just take a picture of what I want up here, but I hate that, I hate it!

I don't know what the problem is with my scanner, therefore I don't know how to fix it. Should I just try to convince my parents that we need a new one?
